Chapter 3-The Mount of Transfiguration The Transfiguration of Jesus------Matthew, chapter 17:1--2 And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, bringrth them up into a high mountain apart, And He was transfigured before them. and His face did shine as the sun, and His raiments was white as the light. {We notice here that it was after the sixth day that Jesus was transfigured. We also notice that Jesus took only three of His disciples with Him.} What was Jesus revealing through the miracle of the transfiguration? Remember, this occurred before His actual crucifixion. Matthew-1- And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, 2- And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. This supernatural event that only three of His closest disciples were allowed to witness, was a prophetic overview of what is to occur at the end of the sixth day, the seven thousand years since Adam. The Greek word for transfigure is "METAMORPHOO" from which we get our English word "metamorphoses." Webster's Dictionary definition of metamorphoses is: 1: the physical change undergone by some animals, as the tadpole to the frog; 2: a marked change of character, appearance, condition, etc. We also know that it is the process the caterpillar goes through that transforms it from a worm into a beautiful butterfly. God's Holy Word speaks to us through many different aspects of the world around us. Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God. -Vine's dictionary of New Testament words also has the Greek word "METAMORPHOO" for the word transform. God's Word tells us that we can be transformed {METAMORPHOSED} by renewing our minds, and putting on the mind of Christ. Our Lord was revealing to Peter, James and John the transformation that will take place, as our minds are renewed, and we put on the mind of Christ. Nothing of this old "Adamic nature" can enter into this realm. Peter, James and John were the only ones of Jesus' disciples, who were walking in a high realm in The Spirit, that they were allowed to witness this magnificent event of Jesus' Transfiguration. They were symbolic of the Firstfruits, that are coming forth as the "Manifested Son's of God." Paul, writing to the Galatians, prayed, "My little children, for whom I labor in birth again until Christ be formed in you." Acts 1: verse 9---And when He had spoken these things, while they beheld, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. {What was this "cloud" that received Jesus out of their sight? Realizing that the word "clouds" symbolically in the scriptures represents "a great throng of people," this great throng of people were the Saints, on the other side, who had already passed on.} 10--And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold two men stood by them in white apparel, verse 11--Which also said, "Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven. A cloud of the Saints on the other side received Jesus into the heavens. The two men in white apparel asked the "Men of Galilee" why they were still gazing up into heaven. He told them that this same Jesus would return in like manner. { If it was a cloud of Saints on the other side, that received Jesus, doesn't it stand to reason, that if He comes in like manner, it will be a great throng of His Saints upon this earth that will receive Him when he returns? The people were admonished for gazing into heaven. The people alive today could take heed to this admonishment. They are standing, symbolically, gazing into heaven, expecting to be "Raptured" off this earth at any moment, instead of expectantly looking for Jesus' soon return.} The end of the age, and the fullness of time has arrived. God has a people in the earth {The Sons of God; Romans Ch.8} who will be changed into the that same likeness, as the Firstborn Son of God. John 2:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, "except a grain of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit." God chose Moses, as a representative of the coming Messiah, and Aaron as a representative of the Priesthood to lead the Children of Israel through the wilderness, through The Jordan River, {God even parted the waters, so they could cross over on dry land} and into the "Promised Land." A priesthood company is being raised up in the earth today after the "Order of Melchisedec," who will lead God's people through the wilderness, and into the "Promised Land," where sorrow and death will no longer exist. The purpose of this "Firstfruits Corporate Body" of "Sons of God" will be the same as that of the First born Son of God; to be servants to humanity, and pave the way for them to also enter in. When Jesus gave up His ghost upon the Cross, the Veil of the Temple was rent two thousand years ago, the way was paved for us to enter behind the Veil. Jesus agonizing death on the Cross represented the death of the flesh {carnal nature} of man. Metaphorically, the Veil represents the "flesh" {Carnal mind}. Hebrews 10:12-13; But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice, sat down at the right hand of God, from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool. -- The carnal church in the world today is teaching that any day now the Rapture will take every believer out of this world. This is totally contrary to the Word of God. Who will be here to make Jesus' enemies His footstool, if we are gone. Jesus prayed John 17:15---I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. When this world has been purged of all of its corruption through the judgments that are coming, and the "Body of Christ" has come to full maturity, then will we make Jesus' enemies His footstool. The way will then be paved for our "Head, Christ" to be joined with His Body on this planet. Revelations tells us that we will rule and reign with Christ for a thousand years. Praise His Holy Name!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
